Hi guys, if you could just take a second to read this, it would mean so much.
This beautiful girl, Katie Simpson, died at 1am yesterday morning of a self inflicted drug overdose, after receiving several anonymous hate messages. Messages calling her fat, ugly, telling her she shouldn’t be living, and she listened. She listened to the horrible and disgusting people who pushed her over the edge. I just don’t understand how people can be so horrible to others…how they can just push and push people until they hit their breaking point. The fact that people are tormenting others to the point of suicide is disgusting, and makes me so sick. The fact that a beautiful young girl was so scared of everyone to the point where she felt she could not live anymore, should be a sign that we need to change. It’s not enough to tell everyone to just help against bullying, we actually NEED to start standing up against bullying, and not even that, but if you see someone hurting, make an effort to help. If you see someone being bullied, or you know about it, reach out to them, and make sure they don’t feel alone..
Does it make you feel better so send people anonymous messages? Do you feel superior or “prettier” than them? Do you feel any more skinny, or better about yourself? I’m honestly sick to my stomach thinking about the fact that someone could justify themselves just to tear something so beautiful apart.You guys this isnt a joke. Bullying is not a joke. Hiding behind a computer screen is not a joke. This needs to be put to a stop. and the only people that can change this and help, are us. Please share this, reblog this, whatever it takes to get Katie’s story around.
It may seem like, “oh its fine.. everyone knows bullying isnt okay” but obviously not. You people dont get it. Beautiful and smart and talented people are killing themselves because of this. They are ending their lives. Can you imagine a life without your brother, or your sister, or your best friend. Can you imagine losing them because other people you knew and went to school with, were pushing them down everyday? Its so hard, and this is killing me. We need to help put a stop to this disgusting behavior.
